By installing Microkoi you accept the license agreement shown on first launch. The app is intended for debugging your own software and authorized testing.

First launch

The beta ships without paid developer signing certificates, so your system will warn that the publisher is unknown. That is expected — here is what to do.

  • macOS: “developer cannot be verified”

    Right-click Microkoi in Applications, choose Open and confirm Open in the dialog. You only need to do this once.

  • Windows: “Windows protected your PC”

    Click More info, then Run anyway. This warning appears for installers without a paid signing certificate.

  • Linux: installing the package

    Install the downloaded package with your package manager and dependencies come along. For .rpm: sudo dnf install ./Microkoi-0.9.0-linux-amd64.rpm

After installing

    Open a project folder

    On the welcome screen create a workspace or open an existing folder — your project repository, for example.

    Start the proxy

    Click Start on the traffic screen and Install certificate to see inside HTTPS.

    Route your traffic

    Set 127.0.0.1:9090 as the HTTP proxy in your system or app. For phones there is step-by-step setup with a QR code.

    Every feature is unlocked and free: capture, breakpoints, mocks, mock servers, monitoring and notes. No key, no account. Every beta build runs for 14 days from its build date — after that, download a fresh one from this page.

  • Your data stays with you

    The app never sends us your traffic, your requests or usage statistics.

  • Updates

    We announce new versions on the blog. Built-in auto-update is switched off for now: the app never calls home.

Checksums

Every file on this page comes with a SHA-256 sum. Compare it after downloading to be sure the file arrived intact and nobody replaced it on the way.

Installation questions

Why does my system say the developer is unknown?

The beta is built without paid Apple and Microsoft signing certificates: they are not available until the company is registered. On macOS open the app with a right-click and Open; on Windows click More info and Run anyway. The SHA-256 sums on this page let you verify the file was not tampered with.

What happens 14 days after the build date?

The build stops starting the proxy and mock servers, sending requests and running monitor checks, but it stays open for reading: captured exchanges, collections, environments, mocks and notes are all still there. Download a fresh build from this page and everything works again — your workspaces and settings are kept. This is how we retire stale builds whose bugs are already fixed.

Do I have to leave my email to download the app?

No. The file downloads directly, the app works without an account and never sends us your data.

What is the difference between .deb and .rpm?

They are package formats for different distributions: .deb for Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives, .rpm for Fedora, openSUSE and RHEL. Pick the format your system uses and the right architecture: x86-64 for most machines, ARM64 for ARM-based ones.

How do I remove Microkoi completely?

On macOS delete the app from Applications, on Windows use Apps & features, on Linux run your package manager’s remove command. Then delete the Microkoi root certificate from your system’s trust store. Your workspace folders stay wherever you created them.
